Such a beautiful venue with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The food was delicious and fresh, a lovely experience
Half portions on main course meals being served to Itison customers was a bit naughty.

Being charged a service charge for our Itison meal was not mentioned on the voucher, although this was removed on request, plus our main course meals were substantially smaller than other non Itison customers having similar meals, we had the fish course with only one very small fish and a small portion of chips, other diners all had two large fish and a larger portion of chips.
Very disappointing.
Very nice place

We used our ITISON voucher so our choice of menu was limited. Nevertheless we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The service was very good and we would highly recommend it
Good value, pleasant staff, comfortable and well situated restaurant.

It was mediocre to be honest.

Requested a table on edge of the room, never got that, advised them at booking 1 person had a shellfish allergy, they never enquired on the day which if us it was. They gave us the regular menu instead of the Itison one. I ordered 2glasses of wine and pointed on the menu to the 125ml glass, they charged us for the 175ml, when I queried it the reply was "we always presume people want the large", which I find bizzarre, what if somone was driving?. They added 10% discretionary tip to the bill, the bill was £17 for the wine but they added on the £30 voucher amount so it was £4.71, I asked them to remove it, why would I pay 10% extra onto my voucher price?.
They were unsure if the 2courses were starter and main or main and dessert, at first they said we couldn't have the dessert only the starter, then they changed their minds.
The fish and chips arrived, no peas, no salad, nothing, literally just fish and chips.
Sorry Itison I won't be buying this voucher again.
Regards.

Service excellent..our waiter was charming
Food delicious in an amazing setting
My only complaint was the fish starter of smoked haddock with cod roe emulsion was served cold. My preference would be to have it warm but still thoroughly enjoyed it...so not really a complaint
Excellant!

On a cold, dreich Friday lunchtime, we trudged up to Canonball House restaurant but it was worth every step. Food was great, service was quick and friendly, and the atmosphere was laid back and comfortable. We'll be back.
