Disapponting

Although table was booked for afternoon tea,we waited almost half an hour before asked what we wanted. The choice from the menu was a toastie, scone and cake. The server came with the toasties and nothing else.. We had to tell another server that we were having afternoon tea. The scones and cakes then came on separate plates. Nothing like an afternoon tea.
A pre-planned, pre-booked Afternoon Tea with friends which was a complete disjointed & disappointing experience!

Having purchased the Voucher for Afternoon Tea with a bottle of Prosecco at The Glass Pavillion on 18th February, we decided to book well in advance, on the same day (18th Feb) and we made a reservation as per terms\conditions for\on Saturday 21st March @ 2:30pm for 4 people. On
We arrived in plenty of time & when we spoke to a young new staff member, there was a definite sense\feeling of vagueness & lack of knowledge of our booking. We were eventually given a table which was immediately behind the kitchen door next to a stack of highchairs. Every time the door opened, the door narrowly missed hitting us\the table. We asked if we could sit at another table which was outside & were told we would have to come in and order food at the bar due to sitting outside. We were told to look at the menu & choose what we would like...... A sandwich \toastie, a fruit \plain scone, a cake and choose tea or coffee per person. When we asked what the choice of cakes were, we were told that they only had a few choices left as they were so busy. Our voucher had been redeemed by a male staff member when we had started to place order. By the time we ordered the cakes, there was a choice of 2 cakes!
We advised the staff member that we had bought the voucher in good faith & expected to have our afternoon tea as per voucher & not as the staff member states "it's our take on an afternoon tea". When it was pointed out we booked well in advance , we expected through pre-planning their reservations, they would ensure there would be adequate food for pre-booked tables requiring "set" foodstuffs\menu.
There were no apologies or an offer of alternative items off the menu.
Following the poor service, customer service & failing to provide us with the Afternoon Tea, we asked for a refund & after some time , we were given back in cash the value of the voucher, £50.59. We left immediately after this was received!
We were sorely disappointed with the experience at The Glass Pavillion definitely would not recommend this establishment to anyone!
Very disappointing

Not your traditional afternoon tea. Toastie or ciabatta roll in place of a selection of sandwiches. I asked if I could have a sandwich instead of a toastie and was informed by the waitress that the chef said the bread they used did not taste its best if it wasn't toasted !!! A choice of a sweet from their cabinet in place of a selection of small cakes. The only traditional part were the scones. Not impressed.
Service poor

Reserved a table, but it wasn't when we got there.Nice food but waited 20 mins to get served and a further 20 for food and I asked if we could have our hot drinks with our food but they said they couldn't guarantee this as they were busy and brought them straight away so by time food came we had drunk them as they were getting cold so ended up with water with our afternoon tea
We all absolutely loved afternoon tea

My son rated it as the best afternoon tea he had ever had . Great choice of toasted sandwiches, scones and great big slice of your choice of home made cake. You also had very good choice of hot drink including hot chocolate with or without marshmallow Add in great service and all in nice surroundings and at a great price. What’s not to like
