Top class!

From arrival to departure we were well looked after. Lovely cocktails (included in the Itison price which is the same as the advertised set lunch price). Nice options for food and a good bottle of wine (not cheap but excellent. You don’t go there for cheap!) Food was great. Service just right. What more could you want?
A Memorable Culinary Experience

We enjoyed a delicious lunch at The Kitchin with tastes and flavours neither of us had tried before. The staff were extremely attentive, knowledgeable and friendly, plus we also had an opportunity to meet Tom Kitchin and thank him personally for our wonderful lunch. The canapés, little extra treats, and beautiful presentation thoroughly enhanced our experience and made the whole lunch a truly memorable day in Edinburgh.

The was easily one of the most memorable meals I’ve had in Edinburgh.

The atmosphere is elegant but not pretentious, which surprised me. Exceptional Scottish produce, warm service, and a dining experience that feels both polished and personal. Lovely to have a brief chat with Tom Kitchin.

The restaurant is beautifully laid out simple but effective. Waiting staff were charming, friendly knowledgable and very efficient. The food was beautifully presented and very fresh and tasty. We had wine pairing and yes fantastic you get a proper glass of wine so definitely worth the extra cost, but also very well matched to the food we had ordered. the sommelier was very informative and presented each wine with grace.
I would like to take my sister who is wheelchair bound, and on discussion with Mr Kichen and the staff they would go out their way to accommodate this.
Disappointing

Pleasant decor and welcoming staff. However set lunch menu was limited and disappointing. Choice of three starters, three mains and two desserts. Our starter of Halibut tartar was very tasty. Mains - the duck leg encased in pastry on bean ragout was tasty enough but I am unsure why there were three random lettuce leaves in the plate! The lamb dish left my husband looking for the lamb - a courgette flower and a small pepper stuffed with shredded lamb shoulder was disappointing. The soufflé and berry tart were ok but not memorable. The over dramatic theatrical description by the waiting staff was not to our taste. This was the £69 set lunch - would the £135 lunch left us with more of a WOW experience? I’m not too sure!
Delicious food with impeccable service.
