Relaxing Break

Loved the tasting menu, breakfast was great, stayed in the Lonsdale room, it didn’t have a view , but a cosy wee room!!!
Constructive criticism, they need to do a menu in the bar for bar food, ie chicken, burger, salads, for anyone who is a plan eater.
Did find drink prices very expensive .
All the staff were great , young Rachel was lovely.
Remember the road is a single track for approximately 7 mile!!!
Would love to go back in the summer, walks are lovely.
Fabulous location and delicious food.

We spent 3 nights in this hotel and paid to be upgraded to a room with a lake view. The deal included the tasting menu on one night.
The hotel which was built in 1937 is full of character but in need of some refurbishment. It is also quite short staffed putting a heavy toll on the current staff who worked very hard but did do a very good job.
I think it would be a good idea to have non slip mats in the bathroom as a health & safety measure. It should also be noted there is no lift.
The menu was varied but offered the same choices in the restaurant and bar.
The food was of a high standard and could not be faulted.
A lovely stay

A time capsule hotel in a fabulous, off the beaten track, location. Wonderful food and staff made for a very relaxing overnight stay. Comfortable and spacious suite with views to admire.
