Lovely venue and atmosphere/surroundings. Food was nice, possibly too many cream cakes.

Two lovely scones each with jam & cream. Staff very attentive, lots of teas & coffees on request. Lovely setting. I think people would rather have a sausage roll in place of some of the cakes which all had lots of cream.
Could be better!

Whilst the staff were delightful, the actual afternoon tea could have been much better. Our sandwiches had no butter which resulted in a rather dry experience. Scones, although fresh, were rather savoury as they appeared to have been made without any sugar. A little sugar added to the mix would be nicer. However, the mini cakes were very nice indeed. The whole experience was ok but could have been tastier.

The afternoon tea was average. Lack of butter on the sandwiches was disappointing which made them dry. Had to ask for butter for our scones which came brick hard.
The waiting staff were friendly but overall not the best afternoon tea I have had.
I believe the food menu is very good though.
Very basic afternoon tea

We were very disappointed with the afternoon tea. The sandwiches were bland, the scones were brick hard and coated with icing sugar, there was no butter but jam, the cream was double cream not clotted cream. Having said that the staff were very nice and friendly. I would suggest that management visit other establishments and see what they serve.
was ok but would not recommend

Was an ok afternoon but would not buy again or recommend to anyone else. Staff were not attentive and had to actively go find staff if required something.

Staff were lovely and friendly. Pity about the food. The sandwiches were fresh however the cakes and especially the scones seemed stale and hard. Hardly ate any of them. We were so looking forward to the afternoon tea and left really disappointed.
Tasty but not what we paid for.

The staff were great, very welcoming and friendly. It's a lovely place and the room was beautiful.
Downside : was nothing like the festive afternoon tea advertised. We asked for no fish sandwiches (I.e salmon) and got given tuna.
The afternoon tea was advertised as Sandwiches: roast turkey & cranberry. brie & chutney, egg & chive, smoked salmon & cucumber, Pork & chestnut sausage roll
Sweet items Salted caramel éclair, Mini lemon meringue pie, Carrot & walnut cake, Macaroon
Freshly baked Scones
Cinnamon & sultana, Chocolate & pistachio, Mixed fruit jam & vanilla Chantilly cream.
We got cheese and pickle, egg mayo, ham and tomato, tuna.
Mix of cakes none of the above,
Plain scones.
So although tasty and a great setting it was disappointing as this was an anniversary treat as my husband had been ill.
The was one hair hanging off the plate which I quickly removed before my husband saw, otherwise he wouldn't have eaten it.
I Didn't say anything as it had taken alot to get my hubby out and I wanted for him to enjoy the time.
I think it was a lot of money to pay for very plain sandwiches and scones.

Booked the festive afternoon tea as an early Christmas present for a friend.
The sandwiches and scones were very nice but the cakes were rather disappointing. Two small chocolate brownies and two small pieces of gingerbread with a cream style topping on them. There was also a small round disc of pastry which had an undistinguishable flavoured jelly like substance on top. Not very nice. Would have expected a bit more of the “ festive “ aspect to the food offered, e. g. turkey as a filling for one of the sandwiches, a mini mince pie, etc.
The staff never asked us at any point if everything was ok, nor were we offered another pot of tea. Even as we left no member of staff asked us if we had enjoyed our afternoon tea.
