Our brunch at The Red Herring was delicious. The staff were attentive and pleasant. We were seated in the outside area which is next to the pavement and road. For me it was a bit noisy there, but I was happy enough to be in the sunshine. I learned later they have a terrace at the back which may have suited me better. The food arrived quickly and was really good. We both had a full Scottish breakfast which went down a treat.

Large menu for an itison deal. I was surprised.
Lovely goats cheese, but served with rock hard spiced fruit bread. The flavour of the bread was good, but it was unbreakable. I couldn't bite it and I couldn't snap it.
Flavourless fish for the fish and chips,. Greasy ragu that lacked depth of flavour, that had obviously been sitting under the hot lamps.
Disappointing. The quality has gone down as the choice of dishes has gone up.

What a wonderful place which exceeded our expectations.
We had purchased a 2 course lunch with a drink each for 2 and we were surprised by the choice of menu. Unlike some other restaurant offers this was not restricted to a choice of 4 starters and 4 mains.
My friend also does not do dairy and all questions were answered and she was accommodated well.
Beautiful surroundings with friendly staff and plentiful portiond. I wouldnt hesitate to try again.

The Itison menu had plenty of choice. The food was tasty and the service was friendly and professional.

We had an iris on voucher for a 2 course lunch with a drink for 2. Amazing value for money.
Food was delicious and there was a lot of choice on the menu. Staff were very pleasant and helpful.
We will definitely do this again when we are in the area.
