Wonderful relaxing day spent at Atholl Palace

Spoiled by shockingly bad afternoon tea which consisted of stale food.

The atmosphere in the spa area is not inviting - a maze of corridors in the basement hard stone loungers to relax on. The therapist was charming and very good so I enjoyed that part. The afternoon tea was a disgrace. I'm sure I was served left overs. The food was not fresh. The scone must have been about two weeks old. It was as hard as a rock. I could have used it as a golf ball. I complained to the waitress who replaced the scone which I ate. I also ate one sandwich and one cake which were the best looking of what was offered. I'll never go back to the Atholl Palace.

The staff at Atholl palace and Lavender spa were very friendly and helpful.
It’s a beautiful place with old world charm, set in stunning grounds.
The pool temperature was very cool and even keeping constantly moving, I still had goosebumps.
The steam room was also not very hot or full of steam, though that could be because I was there at 10 am.
The jacuzzi was hot which was great.
My massage and facial were amazing and Sophie was fantastic.
I enjoyed a cuppa in the relaxation room afterwards.
The afternoon tea was special, I choose a vegetarian option which was delicious.
The service was great and I had lots of lively tea, overlooking a fantastic view.
