The afternoon tea was plentiful and very tasty. Sandwiches, scones and cakes all freshly made in-house. Too much to finish in one sitting!
Seating area was disappointing - very claustrophobic as there were no windows. Felt more like a hotel corridor with bedroom doors off it and cleaning trolleys and cleaners milling around. Spoilt the ambience, but the standard of the food made it an enjoyable experience overall.

Not what expected from a 5 star hotel. Had much better afternoon teas. Scones not very fresh and cakes disappointing. Quiche was good.
Asked for plates for sweet things and were given saucers.

We had booked an afternoon tea for 5 people at 2pm. We arrived and were told to take a seat wherever we wanted and they would be with us shortly. Afternoon tea stands arrived, no plates, cutlery etc and no drinks! Staff seemed very disorganised, except for one girl who was doing her best. We had to repeatedly ask for things numerous times.
On saying that the Glasshouse Snug was lovely, as was the afternoon tea in the end but service from some of staff could be vastly improved.
