We met with our American friends while they were visiting Edinburgh for the Festival. The hotel is so central and we had passed by a few times and wanted to try it out. It has such a lot of character with all of its nooks and crannies. The dining room is really lovely and cosy. The service was exceptional. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. It was a great deal with the included glass of prosecco. We ordered wine and a soft drink which was expensive compared to other restaurants but we would definitely return.
Voucher was good value

Family had a lovely meal and the service was good. Would recommend.
Disappointing.

The food was overcooked and the side dish of new potatoes turned out to be burnt roasted potatoes which were so overcooked they were dry. Side dish of carrots was also overcooked and burned. Chicken was dry and overcooked with little flavour. My partner had the burger with chips which were inedible as they were so overcooked. Staff were lovely as always, but if this had been my only experience of the food at the Commons club, I would not be back. Perhaps the festival had put pressure on the kitchen team. However this was a special occasion so very disappointing. I will possibly give the CC another try out of season but never again during Festival

We had a fabulous experience at the commons club, there was plenty of choice on the menu and the food was amazing, the only suggestion I can make regarding improvement would be to include some type of potato with the corn fed chicken dish as my friend had to pay extra to add to her meal.We definitely received 5 star service from the staff.

The location is ideal for anything Fringe related. The place is very stylish and the staff are friendly and helpful. The people that were with me were very impressed and would return without hesitation.

A really lovely, warm and welcoming experience at each stage of our entry to the restaurant via the hotel. Everyone was so friendly and genuinely nice. The food was really good and very competitively priced for central Edinburgh. Cocktails were tasty and our servers were excellent. The only downside was the wait for our bill at the end, and mostly because we had to rush to another reservation but that aside, a faultless and wonderful experience.
