Was shown a table immediately on entry at a busy and sold out lunchtime. Then a 20 min wait without seeing any staff which prompted us to enquire at the bar which resulted in waiting staff arriving.
Tea was poured for us (no pots?) and with an impressive array of bakes, certainly needed a top up. Again no staff on hand so we had to leave seats to seek.
That aside we would go back again and surprisingly full for a Wednesday.

This afternoon tea voucher was bought as a Christmas gift. My wife and I love afternoon tea and have have experienced many. This ranked as the worst by far. My wife is vegetarian and to our surprise the non veggie and vegetarian sandwiches arrived on the same plate. The finger sandwiches were shocking. I was given 3 small ham and tomato; my wife was given 3 egg. It is normal for there to be a selection of different fillings. My wife’s vegetarian sausage rolls were on the same plate as the cakes and had a dusting of icing sugar on them. The cakes were passible but some did not appear to be fresh. The service was poor and unattentive; I also had to chase up a waitress in order to get a refill of a cup of coffee. Very disappointed with the whole experience.

Average afternoon tea, sandwich fillings were very bland and nothing special, egg mayo, tuna mayo and cheese savoury, bread was dry. Cakes were nice. Scones disappointing as only plain not fruit and only one little pot of jam to share between the two of us, small scoop of clotted cream to share. Service was good but we were disappointed with the whole experience really.

Delicious gin afternoon tea on Saturday. Beautifully presented tasty sandwiches, scones and sweet treats. Very helpful, friendly staff. Cocktails wwre anazing and reasonably priced. Would highly recommend.

Yes we enjoyed it, have been going there for over 25 years. Afternoon tea with prosecco was lovely.
It wasn't nice when the hotel owner came to our table when we were eating to say the voucher had been used 2 days before! We had not used it and there had been a mistake on there part, it was embarrassing in front of other customers.

The place was really nice and the staff were super. We turned up early and they went out of their way to accommodate us. Great all round.
