Best fish and chips we've ever had, anywhere! The batter was perfect, the fish exactly as it should be. The chips loke nothing we've seen before - they were shaped like shoe horns, enabling them to be used like spoons, with which to scoop up the delicious minty pea puree that accompanied the dish. Wonderful.

Poor quality. Cocktail was like a slushie, tasting only of orange juice and overfilled. Mussels liquor was watery and like Heinz tomato soup. Fish course was a frozen batter coated specimen which had been cooked in oil at high temperature - rock hard outside and soft and almost mushy inside.
Partners meal a little better with haggis beeps and rattles starter and steak pie.
We were stage at the end with a 20 per cent service charge - the service was poor. We were stuck at a table away at the back and it was difficult to get attention of staff.
Avoid like the plague. .

Visited the citizen last Saturday given requested booth by window, greeted by lovely welcoming staff who could not do enough to help.
The 2 course menu with signature cocktail was amazing such great value and such a stunning venue stayed on and ordered further cocktails 🍸 (they are the best) such a great start to our Saturday afternoon in town.
Thank you Citizen your food drink and staff are just fantastic.
