Beautiful spa, shame about the afternoon tea

The spa is lovely and great value with the voucher. The changing room is small but has lovely underfloor heating. We mainly had the place to ourselves which added to the experience. Pool was lovely and not too cold, with a blast massager. Nice deep hot jacuzzi, lovely big steam room, sauna & a cold blast shower. There were chairs around too, but a sunbed would have been a nice extra.
The afternoon tea; well, it was disappointing. We did get coffee which you don’t always get. There was haggis Bon Bon, sausageroll & a cheese pastry tart, these were all very good. The finger sandwiches were ok. The cakes were out the freezer, a chocolate eclair, macaroon, carrot cake (took one bite & I love carrot cake), the scones were dry & what I thought was off looking cream was margarine, it looked rank. After a mix I had to add it to the dry scone. There should be butter & a sachet would look significantly better. The jam was ok. Didn’t eat all the scone.
Would recommend they change the afternoon tea to light lunch as the place looks like it serves good food, maybe afternoon tea isn’t their thing.

Staff were very accommodating with us being early, and the afternoon tea was fabulous. Fresh sandwiches, warm scones and plenty to go round! Unfortunately the spa was disappointing on this occasion. The pool was too busy, and the jacuzzi was unfortunately not working and there was only one toilet cubicle available, so had to wait ages to use the loo! Also, couldn’t sit at poolside as there weren’t enough chairs. 3rd visit, a bit disappointed on this occasion. Hopefully just a one-off.

On our Spa day spend time in the pool, steam room sauna and jacuzzi. Lovely facilities.
Then had afternoon tea which was tasty and the scones were so lovely.

Having a voucher for spa and afternoon tea, we used the spa first it has a lovely pool and steam room although the jacuzzi was difficult for older people to get into, the area was dirty and needed a good clean. Now to afternoon tea this was the WORST afternoon tea we have ever had the sandwiches were like doorsteps and tasteless, poor choice of cakes which look days old and the weakest tea ever! Certainly not worth it and would not recommend it at all
