Had a lovely experience in the hotel. Reception staff could not be more friendly and helpful. They even phoned the day before we arrived to see if there were any questions we had. My husband enquired about parking and the lady told us how to sort that. We arrived at the hotel and were able to park outside to drop our luggage and the reception staff directed us to the car park which was a couple of minutes away. Check-in was excellent. The room was spotless and well equipped. Breakfast gave a large choice from both buffet and à la Carte and quality was very good. The bar was a nice place to drop by at night either before or after dinner. All staff in the hotel were very friendly and helpful. Hotel is ideally placed for visiting every attraction in York. Nice range of restaurants in the vicinity too. We had a great stay and will definitely return.

our first impression of the hotel
was tempered by discovering that we had to pay a £75 supplement for staying Saturday night on top of the price we had paid for the Itison voucher so this was a bit of a shock and felt steep.
However the room was comfortable and quite well fitted out. although just 2 cans of water, 2 bag of crisps and 2 biscuits felt a bit mean.
Breakfast was excellent with a great buffet plus some nice à la carte options. The staff are very friendly, helpful and welcoming.
The only other point would be that we did report to reception that the bin in the bathroom was broken on the first evening and despite being told it would be replaced, it wasn’t.
