It was OK but with this hot weather maybe a fly catcher would be good .
Once we got the Cealiac issue dealt with it was fine.
Great meal

Very limited Itison menu. Small main course, looked like we were sharing one portion of meat. Staff were nice.

Staff were good but the food was disappointing

Eating from the set lunch menu via itison. Starter of garlic mushrooms - felt like supermarket garlic bread with mushrooms and a bit of cream. Main of seabass - expected a bit more than a few salad leaves to accompany it. The pickled fennel and orange were hard to find - one piece of orange and the rest was 3 or 4 limp salad leaves. Asked for a desert and it was confirmed the voucher only covered two courses. Agreed to upgrade and expected to pay £5 - difference between 2 and 3 courses on set menu but were charged £9. Had to ask twice for water for the table. The table was sticky. The excellent views were spoiled by windows that weren't clear. On the basis of this visit I wouldn't return or recommend but we had previously been in for fish and chips which were excellent.
It would not make me want to return

No member of staff around to greet us, we had to go searching everywhere to find someone. No bread or roll brought while we waited for our main course and waiter denied I could have a glass of rose wine on the voucher but after speaker to someone "higher up", he brought it. We both ordered the sea bass and asked for potatoes in place of salad and were served a very small over cooked piece of fish and equally overfried reheated potatoes. Awful. Chef putting that out should be ashamed. We had ice cream for dessert which was very good. Why not use Itison customers to show how good the place is and get return custom? We have been coming at least twice a year to Open Arms for the last 40years, not again.

One friend loved the macaroni cheese. The other enjoyed the pan fried fish (though not as fresh as it could be?). Cheerful waitress, though it was very busy, and we had to wait quite while before we could order our dessert. Pleasant place to come to (and full of nostalgia for one of my guests, whose parents used to go there for Sunday lunch).
Greeted by “are you the itison’s?”

We used our itison voucher on Saturday 13th June.
When we walked into the restaurant, we were greeted with “are you the itison’s?”
I replied, we’re the Sewell’s and have a voucher.
We then sat for 15 minutes before we heard the staff from through the back. “Has anyone got the itison’s a drink yet?”
We were then given our menu with only 3 starters, 3main and 3 dessert choices.
We made our choices, ate our starters, and when our mains arrived, they were a third of the size of other meals that were being served in the restaurant.
We were then offered a dessert to which we said yes. The waiter returned to tell us “your voucher was only for 2 courses.”
Yes I realise this but we’d like to pay for desserts.
They then gave us the itison menu back. My wife asked if there were more dessert choices on their main menu?
“Yes”, there’s 7 dessert choices.
All in all the food was nice, but not value for money.
The whole experience of being made to feel different from the staff wasn’t a pleasant one.
This is not our usual experience of using itison vouchers.
