Absolutely appalling

Food was absolutely appalling. We had the starter of the coeliac soup which tasted absolutely nothing couldn’t even taste the celery. For the second course we had the steak it was just ridiculous. Every bait was full of Sanu and tough is all Boots. I was so so disappointed after making all that travelling into town and vote for nothing that’s put me off ever going back there again.

The Corinthian is a beautiful venue but the dining experience failed to match. Firstly, we ordered sparkling water with the wine, which the waiter forgot. When reminded he did at least apologies but brought still water instead of sparkling, first world problem I know and it least was cold and wet! When we questioned this later he was insistent it was sparkling water despite the fact it was quite clearly not. My wife could not help comment on the small cheap wine glass, which again did not match the grandeur of the venue. As well as a bottle of wine our Itison offer included steak for two with chips, mushrooms and vine tomatoes the best part of which was the triple cooked chips which were excellent and the mushrooms and tomatoes were nice too. However, the 6oz steak was c.40% fat meaning there was very little eating in it and the pepper sauce my wife requested wasn't pepper sauce but perhaps bearnaise or something similar. It was nice though so she accepted it. Being still hungry, I ordered the fruit crumble, which disappointingly was somewhat tasteless. You have to limit your expectations with an offer as obviously working on smaller margins but even allowing for this it was still a hugely disappointing experience!

Not a good experience. Table was booked for 17.45 and main course didn't arrive until 18.45 and was cold and was sent back. Yorkshire pudding was disgusting and all dried up and burnt. Staff very very helpful.
