Taking our very elderly parents was disappointing. They were previous customers of 40 years but noticed the deterioration. Beef was served with a butter knife( very little perforation) Rolls were served boiling hot (nearly burned their very thin skin) two slither of carrots was the veg! Roast potatoes had been reheated causing the skins to be extremely hard. Had to be careful not to break my teeth! Coffee was served cool. Toilets were a disgrace, overflowing bins. Clogged sinks. Unflushed toilets. All in all. A beautiful hotel serving inferior food maybe just for itison customers?

They lost our order so we waited over half an hour while others before us were served. They charged for a large glass of wine when it was a small one. They tried to charge for the tea and coffee but that is included in the voucher. One small slice of beef and a dessert plate of apple with little or no crumble on top. Disappointing.
Busy and staff were young, they didnt really pay attention to what was going on.

Bought voucher for Sunday lunch in Eolas only for it to be moved to the Cairns as under renovation (shouldn’t have sold vouchers when this was happening). Turned up to a very chaotic Cairns restaurant, loud, unorganised, no one in charge, staff didn’t seem to know what they were doing. Staff bringing out food and then wandering about with it asking what you ordered, if it matched it was yours!! Not the calm Sunday lunch experience in a lovely setting that was sold to us. Would not recommend at all.
Service was terrible, none of the staff looked like they knew what they were doing.

Too many untrained staff running about like headless chickens, customers who came in long after us were served their meals before us despite our orders being in. We had to ask on three occasions when we would get our meals. Staff were asking diners if this was their meal. No table numbers also was hindrance. A very disappointing experience.
