Very good as always

We enjoyed it very much. It was very much as I expected.
Definitely the last visit

Having previously eaten here a few years ago (neither of which were good experiences), we thought we'd give it another chance. We purchased an Itison voucher for a two course lunch. I had the Cullen Skink soup and my husband had the smoked salmon. Whilst the soup was nicely presented, it lacked any flavour and despite adding salt and pepper it remained totally tasteless and was like eating hot cream, so it was left. The sourdough which accompanied it was stale. Not a lot of salmon was eaten as about half of it contained the bloodline and whilst this can be eaten, it was far too strong and chewy for my husband (he felt nauseous about two hours after leaving the hotel). We both had the haddock and whilst the fish was okay, the batter was undercooked and greasy and the chips tasted like they were reheated. All in all, yet another poor experience, so we definitely won't return. As an aside, the ladies toilets contained an unusual collection of items such as plasters, suncream, etc. However, the strangest of all were mints in a glass container! Surely it would be better and more hygienic to have these at reception rather than a toilet - yuk.
Very good would recommend

Tasty food. Brilliant value for money, arrived at 12.30 and never left till just before 3pm but didn’t feel that long. Ordered crumble for dessert as no sticky toffee pudding and my crumble was warm but my friends was cold and crumble on the top was just a sprinkling and not cooked. But ok.
Fab-u-lous

Food excellent couldn't fault it, service was very good ,friendly and very hospitable and attentive.
Lovely place although garden could do with a tidy up, couldn't see the Tay also drive and entrance needing attention.
Dinning room light and airy nicely decorated, but could do with tables being painted, and window sills cleaned and painted, also noticed blinds hanging not fixed properly, attention to detail goes a long way.
Excellent boutique Hotel

Second visit disappointment

We had Itison Sunday Lunch here and it was good so revisited establishment. It was not terribly busy so surprised so many items were off the menu. The Cullen skink was very watery with little smokies. I had the last Balmoral chicken and it was very disappointing and very very salty. My husbands second choice was the fish, the chips were strange, although cooked in centre looked dark brown almost burnt looking and his mushy peas were watery. The waitress was very smart and pleasant but had to return several times to correct answers to our queries. Service was slow but that would be because of kitchen.
Excellent from start to finish
