Nice Country inn with a friendly, vibrant pub set in a scenic part of Scotland.

The Plough is a warm and comfortable old country inn which still maintains a lively and very friendly pub. Although somewhat dilapidated, this only adds to its charm and it offers luxuries such as toast racks and constant hot water that are so often absent in more sterile modern hostelries. The food is pub grub but cooked with care from fine ingredients.
They were having some difficulties during our stay. The owners, and usual managers, were away, whilst the new chef, in his first week had been hospitalised with a stomach ulcer. However, Caroline and Lindsey coped splendidly so that neither we nor the other guests were inconvenienced in any way. -
