Social Bite

In 2014, we joined forces with Social Bite to help with their aim of ending homelessness in Scotland for good. Since then, our members have donated thousands of meals for the homeless, raised over £2.7 million and helped build the first Social Bite village in Edinburgh. We’re excited to be partnering with Social Bite for a 2nd year on their Break the Cycle campaign to help support grow their pioneering projects putting an end to homelessness.

Hear from Social Bite on how the funds raised from this year will help to support those in need:

  • Homes – We continue to raise funds to help build two new Social Bite Villages in two new locations (soon to be announced!) as well as continuing to innovate new programmes to tackle the issue of unsuitable temporary accommodation.
  • Jobs – Over the past ten years, we have learned first-hand the transformative power a job with support can have for someone who has experienced homelessness and trauma. It gives you purpose in life. That’s why we’ve created an initiative to help revolutionise how people who have experienced homelessness access job opportunities across the UK. Jobs First launched in October 2021 in Scotland and London, with aims to be replicated in other cities across the UK
  • Food – Social Bite distributes over 180,000 items of food and hot drinks to vulnerable people each year.  We believe food is the primary engagement tool for helping to signpost people experiencing homelessness to access the support needed to combat complex needs and ultimately break the cycle of homelessness.
