Great weekend in excellent accommodation with good food

We have stayed here before and returned because we really enjoyed our last visit . We were not disappointed. We stayed with our one year old golden retriever who was also made very welcome with treats and towels already in the room for her ..
We had a large ground floor room with great access to the front door and grass area .
Breakfast and dinner were good quality and well presented . Excellent range of beers and cocktails at the bar .
Staff were friendly and helpful and very attentive even when busy .
My only observation would be in relation to furniture. A very minor detail but worth mentioning . Beautiful small wooden tables at the bedside but way too small and low to serve as bedside tables .
Tea and ground coffee provision was good and extra milk available however only one small cafetière provided . A larger cafetière would allow for 2 cups to be made at the same time .
We certainly plan to return as the hotel is well situated for local walks along the river and into the town . Also an excellent base for touring local area . -
I loved it and plan to return.
