What about the little ones?

Under 5’s aren’t permitted on the main rink, but they can safely slide and play on our new toddler rink – a small area dedicated for wee ones and an accompanying adult. Tickets are £6, payable on the day, and include bobskate hire (skates that strap on over shoes). The toddler rink is open until 7pm daily, and an accompanying adult goes free, no skates needed.

Children aged 5 – 12 must be accompanied by an adult on the main ice rink. Skate aids are available for hire on the day for £5 and are suitable for children under 1.2m.

Ice Skating Feature Sessions

Skate under the stars on an outdoor, fully covered, purpose designed track against the stunning setting of Elfingrove, Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. An ice rink to rival the great cities of the world.

Skate with Santa

Santa is getting his skates on! Grab tickets for these very special skate sessions, make sure you’re on the (n)ice list and get pictures with the big man himself at Elfingrove.

Skate School

More Bambi on Ice than Dance on Ice? Our 40 minute skate lessons are perfect for newbies (or rusty) skaters to learn the ropes. Taken by a team of talented instructors, these are guided lessons for small groups with plenty of help, tips and support to have you sliding and gliding like a pro in no time.

Relaxed Sessions

Elfingrove's relaxed ice-skating sessions are designed for adults or children who prefer to enjoy the magic of Christmas in a more relaxed and chilled environment. These sessions are suitable for autistic people or anyone with learning disabilities or other sensory and communication needs. Sound and light will be adjusted to a more ambient level with a reduced capacity.

Under 5s Toddler Rink

Toddlers and little kids can safely slide and play on our new toddler rink – a small area dedicated for wee ones and an accompanying adult.

The toddler rink is open until 7pm daily.
Limited capacity – there might be a short wait.

Good to know

  • Venue opening times 09:30am – 10pm (last entry at 9.30pm)
  • Time slots available every 60 minutes
  • Ice skating sessions are 40 minutes
  • You must arrive 15 minutes before to get your skates on
  • Under 5’s aren’t permitted on the main rink, but tickets for our toddler rink can be purchased on the day for £6 including bobskate hire. The toddler rink is open until 7pm daily, and an accompanying adult goes free.
  • Under 12s must be accompanied by an adult
  • Skate aids are available on a first come first served basis on the day for £5
  • Lockers are available on the day for £2. Only small cross body bags allowed on the ice
  • The venue is fully outdoors and suitable for every age range
  • Entry to Elfingrove is free and open for everyone to come in to spectate, grab a bite to eat or drink, have a spin on our Snow Wheel or enjoy the Silent Snow Disco – all available to book on the day.
  • Limited skate tickets may be available at the box office (subject to availability) however we advise booking your tickets in advance for best price and to avoid any disappointment.
