Great stay at Thainstone, staff we polite and friendly especially at dinner and breakfast in the green lady restaurant. The room was a small cosy but had everything we needed.

Disappointing, booked afternoon tea for a friend a few days in advance. Very disorganised, thought we were here for lunch, had to wait quite some time. Big pot of tea for 2 had 1 teabag, dirty teapot. To be fair the waitress brought us another, and the food was nice enough.

The only nice thing about the afternoon tea was the company and sandwiches. Scones rock hard, cream did not look inviting, very small sausage roll cold. Mini Victoria sponge stale, did not eat any of other cakes. I had been before albeit a few years ago and it was fantastic so not sure if it was because itcwas a voucher. The staff were wonderful. First time in my life that I did not complain as could not be bothered.

Have now stayed here 3 times, each time I've booked it through ItIsOn and done the stay and leisure offer. First 2 stays was a lovely experience, however my 3rd time I was a bit disappointed with our stay. Our room was extremely small, dusty and we had to take apart the fan as it was full of hair and dust. The room never had tea or coffee in it, however it had the kettle and the coffee cups available. Dinner was lovely as always, breakfast was lovely but on the 2nd morning we had to ask the waiter for cutlery, tea and coffee and when I asked I felt like I shouldn't of as he just mumbled and then came back with the tea and coffee and never said a word. I understand it was busy but it's just a bit of a disappointment when my previous stays have been lovely.

To celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary I booked a stay at Thanestone House. On checking in we were given a voucher for 2 Prosecco drinks. We had our 17 week old puppy with us and had booked a pet friendly room. We had our meals in the comfortable bar room. The staff were super friendly especially Owen on reception and Lachlan on the bar. Great really hot meals. Highly recommend.
Shame there was no one else in the place so no atmosphere but staff were lovely

Decor was a little tired round the edges, but overall comfortable and clean. Food was good. Weren't given breakfast menus until the final day, so we were not aware we could have ordered porridge, pancakes etc. Nevertheless, the breakfast selection was very good.

Bed was a bit hot for me, huge duvet etc!!! And it was a small room.
Superb loved every minute of this well needed break.
