Relaxing place to visit.

Lovely comfortable rooms, dining experience was o k but a little pricey, as was the variety. Was not overly keen to use the pool due to the local community having half the pool for lots of swimming activities etc., I have also noticed from this month the price has gone up £10 per night 🌙 for the ITISON b & b offer.
Great little spa stay

Lovely hotel set in beautiful grounds. Room was clean and to our expectations. The leisure facilities were good too. Unfortunately, the steam room was out of order but I guess that is outwith the control of the hotel, things do break down. The food in the restaurant was delicious, one of the reasons we had returned to this hotel. Staff were very friendly and pleasant. I would definitely return.
Pleasant and relaxing

It was a lovely hotel and the food was excellent too. We weren't told the pool was closed for maintenance until 2 days before arrival yet it must have been planned for months. Not that it mattered hugely.
Overall nice rooms but a little TLC here and there all round the hotel would not go amiss. Carpets in the room need cleaned albeit the room etc was generally spotless. Comfy bed too. Would strongly recommend Ardoe.
Disappointing on many levels unfortunately

Not what was expected from what was once a well thought of venue; hotel is tired, maintenance schedule is clearly behind or just simply lacking, cleanliness of pubic area was poor, two drinking glasses used - first had to request another one as glass provided at bar had lipstick marks still on, other at breakfast had milk or something similar on inside of bottom of glass and didn’t notice until post consumption of the orange juice , ‘hot breakfast items’ were luke warm at best, room was very cold.
Spa closed for maintenance but communicated via social media as being from day we arrived (turns out it was open but didn’t know until arrival and by then too late as didn’t bring swim wear based on social media post). That being said, noted other guests at reception stating that spa was holding kids swim lessons which was not as per their expectation so glad we didn’t go in the end tbh, attempted to be charged at checkout for afternoon tea we didn’t have….
On positive note, bed was comfortable and bathroom was decent (though complimentary toiletries only consisted of shampoo and combined hand/body wash - no conditioner) .
Overall poor experience and would not recommend.

Great hotel feels like a castle. Rooms lovely bed so comfy. Spa facilities are great. Dined at hotel and food was really good. I also had cocktails. Staff were all lovely. Breakfast was good lots of choice lots of fruit, yogurt meat cheese along with full cooked breakfast. Only thing I would recommend is having mugs at breakfast instead of small cups as had to go back and forth to fill cup. The hotel is so close to Aberdeen. Great stay would highly recommend.
Beautiful hotel with charm.

Our hotel stay was lovely and we got a warm welcome with our dog. The rooms were modern and spacious with really comfortable beds. Breakfast was delicious with a good selection of options. The spa is quite dated and the only negative aspect of our stay.

From our experience Ardoe caters mainly for business clientele and no doubt weddings and functions.
We were pleased to be offered a spacious and comfortable accessible room because it had a bath.
One of the main attractions to booking this trip was to enjoy a swim. Whilst this was possible, half the pool was reserved for childrens lessons, which though understandable, did impinge on our enjoyment.
Additionally the spa is in need to care and maintenance attention....rotting wooden frames and peeling ceiling plaster to name but two issues; and the ladies drier never worked on our vistits.
Food, both from Blair's and Soapies was fine but generally pricey whilst compared to culinary standards. And seven pounds fifty for a pint of Corona we would deem as excessive.
However two positives were the breakfast buffet ,which offered an above average choice aligned with freshly cooked dishes and excellent scrambled eggs cooked to order.
The second positive was the friendly and helpful staff who without exception were a credit to the hotel. A perfect example was one of the housekeeping staff who spontaneously offered to help with out luggage on departure.
