When booking I had mentioned that we did not eat pork. Despite this when we arrived we were told that the meat for that Sunday was chicken and pork.
When I paid for the voucher pork was not mentioned.
We ordered starters of salmon these were ok but came with no lemon and no bread, odd. Even the soup was not served with a roll/bread.
For the mains we were given 2 very small fillets of chicken, both together were not equal to one regular fillet and the roast potatoes were not fully cooked in the middle. I have to say the presentation was really nice but the food let it down.
My husband still hungry ordered Eton mess for dessert. Well Eton mess it was not. A tiny meringue with tinned mixed fruit and a tiny squirt of tinned cream.
Please note that the dinning room has no access to a disabled toilet.
Staff ignored complaints, disgraceful.
We will never go again. I would never recommend Macdonald Pittodrie House to anyone.

The food was genuinely very good, but the service was poor and let the whole experience down.
I understand that younger staff need experience, but there was a clear lack of basic awareness. My partner had to go table to table looking for salt while two staff members watched and didn’t offer to help. We were never offered dessert, despite other tables being asked, and we sat with empty glasses for ages without anyone checking in.
Eventually, we gave up waiting and went to the door to ask to pay because we’d effectively been abandoned. The team didn’t even seem to know what we’d had to drink and ended up removing the drinks from the bill to avoid asking, which we appreciated—but it really sums up how disorganised things felt.
For the prices being charged, the level of service is nowhere near acceptable. I wouldn’t return.
Staff were very attentive until we wanted the bill then couldn’t get their attention, food was lovely.

Disappointed was an understatement. We purchased 2 X Sunday Roast sharing boards to visit with friends. Firstly the building is looking very unkept & tired. The meal was poor. Although we purchased 2 X boards, we received 1 board with 4 portions on. Going by the neighbouring tables we clearly were getting a raw deal. I had paid for 2 boards & hadn't recd them. By placing 4 portions on 1 board it allowed them to provide less potato & veg for our portions whilst the Roast Pork was OK, the sad excuse of the tiniest chicken fillets for 4 people to share was between was embarrassing. I didn't complain as was with guests but seeing other boards, we were being short changed. Still hungry we all had desert at extra cost but wasn't blown away by these either. Small supermarket meringues with frozen berries at cream at £9 was shocking, expected home made & fresh berries. Overall a poor experience I wouldn't recommend anyone to buy & certainly won't be returning. Edwards & Fennel much better nearby restaurants with chef made & cooked offerings. Don't go by online establishment photos, nothing like it.

As ever our sharing board lunch was excellent, nicely presented and plenty to eat. The only slight comlaint is that it could have been hotter I suppose just being open on a board as opposed to being in hot serving dishes would account for this. It didn't spoil our enjoyment of the lunch out though.
The Staff were all very pleasant and attentive too and the service was impeccable.
All in all a really great place to have a meal at, we most certainly will return.
During lockdown we had to cancel our 50th wedding anniversary booked for Mallorca, we were lucky enough to be able to have a few days at Pittordie House instead and were very
well treated there, we have never forgotten that so we go back when we can, an amazing old fashioned country house hotel with superb Staff. I recommend it wholeheartedly !
