We stayed here on a Friday and Saturday night in February. Our room was on the ground floor but was a little run down, carpets were really worn, the furniture was visibly damaged and there was a strange smell in the room.
The Friday night meal we ordered the Lamb and the Feather blade of beef. Between the young man who took the order and the Australian waiter who brough the food, no one mentioned that the meal they actually served me was the Vension - which was extremely rare and we even overheard someone else in the restaurant complain about this. On the Saturday night, I showed a female waitress the meal I had been served on the Friday which she said was the Venison. When I explained the situation she apologised and said this should never have happened or gotten to the table and she would sort it for us. When we checked out on the Sunday, we had no further update on this, no one else bothered to check in and it hadn't been resolved. We explained that unfortunately this had impacted our experience at the hotel and the female who checked us out did remove the 'Beef' from our bill. But overall, the staff didn't seem to be working as a team and no one seemed to be that bothered about our experience. Sadly, we won't be back for this reason.
Could not fault this lovely hotel. Great location, friendly staff and delicious food. We will be back.

Stonefield Castle is a first class hotel. We had a wonderful stay. Beautiful location. Very attentive, kind staff. Food excellent.

The castle itself is nice with good walks and the lounge and bar areas are lovely. The room whilst clean was quite basic and in an Annex which is not so inviting but we had a dog with us and wonder if these rooms are reserved for this. Would have preferred a nicer room. Overall good experience and friendly staff. Decent food.

We had a wonderful stay at Stonefield Castle, from the minute we arrived the team were so warm and welcoming. Everything was spotless and there was such a cosy atmosphere!
The bed was super comfy, the food was lovely & the drinks were fab!
We're already looking at going back at some point in the summer when the nights are lighter.

Stayed two nights. Lots of cosy areas to read and relax in. Lovely loch views from the restaurant. Lots of beautiful places to walk to with strategically placed benches all around. Food pretty good too! Ideal place to chill out.

2 night stay. Very comfy, cozy hotel. Beautifully decorated for christmas. Open fire! Food is good. Bar is well stocked. Staff really friendly. Perhaps a bit isolated though you can walk into Tarbert. Perfect for a break away from everything with lots of good hill walking/cycling opportunities and stunning scenery.
