Not what I've experienced before

Have now stayed here 3 times, each time I've booked it through ItIsOn and done the stay and leisure offer. First 2 stays was a lovely experience, however my 3rd time I was a bit disappointed with our stay. Our room was extremely small, dusty and we had to take apart the fan as it was full of hair and dust. The room never had tea or coffee in it, however it had the kettle and the coffee cups available. Dinner was lovely as always, breakfast was lovely but on the 2nd morning we had to ask the waiter for cutlery, tea and coffee and when I asked I felt like I shouldn't of as he just mumbled and then came back with the tea and coffee and never said a word. I understand it was busy but it's just a bit of a disappointment when my previous stays have been lovely.
Very relaxing stay.

To celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary I booked a stay at Thanestone House. On checking in we were given a voucher for 2 Prosecco drinks. We had our 17 week old puppy with us and had booked a pet friendly room. We had our meals in the comfortable bar room. The staff were super friendly especially Owen on reception and Lachlan on the bar. Great really hot meals. Highly recommend.
Lovely hotel, very friendly and helpful staff.

Enjoyable experience overall. Friendly, very pleasant staff, very willing to help,
Decor was a little tired round the edges, but overall comfortable and clean. Food was good. Weren't given breakfast menus until the final day, so we were not aware we could have ordered porridge, pancakes etc. Nevertheless, the breakfast selection was very good.
It’s a lovely stay,. Everyone is very welcoming.

Thermal Jacuzzi was a fun experience, pool was nice and warm, enjoyed steam room, and sauna.
Old and dilapidated rooms

Our first booking was cancelled due to hotel having to close due to unknown issues!!?
On our second attempt we were given a room that was so disgusting I headed to reception to ask to be relocated…
Girl in reception was very nice and gave me new room, but to be honest it was only marginally better than the first!!! At least the wallpaper was not peeling from roof…. But the en-suite was equally as dirty and old as the first….
Safe to say I really feel the rooms are not acceptable for a comfortable stay …..
First day breakfast was old and cold, well past its time on the buffet!!! Rubber eggs, gloopy beans, poor quality sausages and bacon you could break your teeth on!!! Complained yet again to same poor girl on the reception
Bar was closed in lounge by 10:10pm on a Saturday night leaving guests still looking for some service!
Would love to leave pictures of said rooms but can’t see any facility to do so!!! ….. I saw three rooms as we were travelling with another couple …. All three rooms were in same disgraceful state!!!
Lovely Hotel in great location

The staff were polite , after paying for an upgrade room it was nice with a comfortable bed , disappointed that the spa was under renovation and there was kids club swimming lessons going on , our meal was also a disappointment that left myself and my husband eating at different times sadly wasn’t the experience we anticipated
