I have stayed here 3 times as it is so handy if travelling by train. The hotel is adequate but most of it could do with a refurb.
The bathrooms in all rooms I have stayed in, the breakfast area and the bar area all need freshened up / things replaced.
Every time I stay I have provided feedback about the very average breakfast catering but it never changes.
I think the location rather than quality keeps it busy.

Pillows need to be improved my wife was unable to get comfortable on first night. We asked the staff for different pillows which she efficiently provided. Good nights sleep on second night. I would suggest that both standards of pillow are left in room.

Heating in hotel didnt work room was so cold slept with coats on, no water or newspapers in room which was part of the offer had to ask for the prosecco. Breakfast was poor, coffee machine broken, i complained to itison and advised them to remove this deal.

Where to start! Had a voucher for a "superior" double room with breakfast, coffee, newspaper and water bottles in the room - also requested a high floor room. We were allocated a standard 2nd floor double room - no newspaper and no water bottles. Cleaner then decided to clean our room at 9.00am when check-out was 11.00am. That was bad enough until we went downstairs for breakfast - manager decided there was to be no buffet breakfast so we were asked to order our breakfasts. I ordered porridge and both hot meals. The meals arrived before the porridge - one was sent back to the kitchen - then two plates of porridge arrived when only one was ordered. My partners meal was cold - sent back - my meal arrived at the same time as my partners - both cold and inedible plus items missing. The Manager just did not sort out matters but offered a pathetic apology which was not accepted. Enails have been sent and received - stating they admitted sub standard all round - but nothing in the way of refund or compensation for a horrible stay. They have been promising to up their standards for the best part of 12 months - without any form of improvement. I would recommend finding a hotel elsewhere even if more expensive. The standards at the hotel when it was Jury's Inn were fantastic but the new owners just don't give a monkeys about customer services or client satisfaction. AVOID.

Breakfast could be improved as if you time it wrongly there is very little food left and it takes a while for more to arrive. We were also told when we asked about croissants ‘None left’

Hotel nice but a little dated. Location excellent for transport links. Staff welcoming and friendly. Room tired and bad smell coming from drain. Breakfast choice good.
