Ensure hotel is warm and functioning properly before guests arrive. Hotel seemingly closed in January and not 100% ready for guest on opening
nice room though bathrooms tired. Great food and friendly staff

I like the old world atmosphere of this hotel. The room is nicely decorated and beds comfy. Bathrooms could do with showers updating. Staff are very friendly and the food is excellent, both in the restaurant and the buffet breakfast. Will definitely be back
Shambolic, staff member described it as Faulty Towers and she was right!

Very dated hotel. Rooms could do with modernising and were very small. There was no hot water in our room so we had to be moved room twice and ended up out in a separate building. Food was mediocre at best, husband was convinced the curry, which was served in a cold ramekin, was out of a jar and the rice was microwaved. Staff were nice but there weren’t enough of them and they seemed stressed, it was chaotic and one staff member described the place as “Faulty Towers”. Breakfast was also mediocre and badly organised, there was only 1 tiny 2 slice toaster for the entire breakfast room and considering Dunkeld has a beautiful bakery, the ultra-processed bread sitting in its plastic packaging on the buffet table was very disappointing.
We would not stay here again and have actively discouraged others from doing the same.
No lift no heating in room or bathroom

Staff were lovely , but very few , l had to ask at breakfast for coffee percolator to be filled also fresh orange juice only a two slot toaster and a que waiting to use . Coffee machine was empty very quickly but not replenished . We had diner on Saturday in hotel and it was lovely . I mentioned to bar person we had no heating in room working also there was an electric radiator but no instructions how to operate . There was no one at reception when we finished our meal . We climbed up 70 odd stairs needing oxygen at halfway Went to into bed for a heat . Really disappointed this is not your usual standard hotel we have booked in the passed .
An enjoyable stay.

Room was fairly small but perfectly adequate. Had other arrangements for evening meal so didn’t eat dinner there, but breakfast was excellent.
Staff very pleasant.
Had a lovely 2 night break at the Royal Dunkeld Hotel.

Our 2 night stay was so much better than we expected. After having read the reviews, we really thought we had made a big mistake but we were so wrong. The hotel was perfectly comfortable. Large , clean room with plenty of hot water. Lovely breakfast provided on both mornings. Had dinner on our first night and it was enjoyable. Not a thing wrong with the food. The dining room where we had our meal was a bit cold. That would be my only negative comment. For the money we paid, it was a great deal. Staff, helpful and friendly.

I booked our room through Itison. We were put in the 'budget' accommodation. It was little more than a shed. Looked more like a guide hut. The girl at reception gave us instructions on how to get there and when I asked for assistance she rolled her eyes and showed us to our 'room'. Quaintly called a 'kabin'
It was tiny. The heating was up full and couldn't be adjusted- it was like a furnace. The spare pillow had no case on it. There were items under the bed that had obviously been left by previous occupants. The bottom lining of the bed was coming away.
The toilet door would only close when you shifted the toilet- there was a big groove in the door from being repeatedly dragged.
The shower ran cold after a few minutes- it was freezing.
We decided to go to the bar for a drink and a game of pool. There was only 1 useable cue and no chalk. Service was extremely slow at the bar- the barmaid preferring to chat to others than serve drinks.
The breakfast was passable- everyone had to use one 2-slice toaster.
We had to wait about 10 minutes at reception to hand our key in. There was a resident from the hotel there and said that their room in the hotel was no better. Luckily the person behind reception didn't ask how our stay was.
I do not often leave reviews, but I feel the need to highly NOT recommend this hotel. Keep clear.

No. Was terrible. Going into reception area was bad enough. Got key but never went any further . just handed key back and left. Everything needs improved. I think you should take it off your list. I just wasted money but it has put me off using ITISON again if this the type of hotel on your list.
