Took our 7 year old granddaughter for the introductory surf lesson. It was an excellent day out. We arrived in time to orientate ourselves, have light lunch and watch activities happening on the water.
At the appointed time we checked in a helped her into a wetsuit.
The course leader gave an introduction and safety briefing that involved, the mostly young children, the move them off in small groups to be instructed in the basics of the boards and how they would use them.
After being taken over to the water the kids were given clear instruction on what would happen and they all appeared to have understood and went on to have a great time.

I used Itison vouchers to buy a beginner lesson session for a parent and child. The experience was excellent - great fun in cracking facilities with good equipment and instruction. We'd both surfed a couple of times before but it was nice to do so in freshwater rather than the sea, and we both progressed. I had heard of Lost Shore previously but an Itison email brought it to my attention and incentivised me to book a session. It was good that there weren't loads of restrictions associated to the Itison discount - I was able to exchange the vouchers for any session, in the same way as if I'd booked direct. Although I live quite far away from Lost Shore, it was a great day out and, having tried it this way, I'll probably book further sessions directly with Lost Shore in future.

Our two grandsons had a brilliant experience. They were first time surfers and came away having a successful lesson. They were first staff were brilliant and our grandsons can’t wait to come back.

I took a gamble in introducing my kids to surfing at lost shore and wish I’d chosen the ocean. Our instructor was kind and fun but the overall feeling we left with was having been squeezed for cash and also it felt a bit like being squeezed through a production line.

We did the beginners lesson in the morning and then an advanced beginners after lunch all the young people had a great day and will defently be back. Staff were brilliant with the young people.

So much better than expected. Spotlessly clean, Lost Shore is a fantastic place with brilliant staff and great food. Four grandchildren had an amazing afternoon (food, surfing, more food) with expert instruction resulting in two of them ‘riding the waves’ with complete confidence. The other two happy to lie on their boards and take it easy!
