Cannot wait to return to this beautiful hotel, cannot fault anything or anyone

Although this hotel is supposedly dog friendly, we have been in other Crerar Hotels which cater far better for people with dogs. We were definitely the outsiders. There was no bowl in the room or dog biscuits which are usually provided.
Had I known that our evening meal would be served in the cold isolated bar, rather than the cosy dining room, then I would have booked the dining room and left the dog in the car. I knew that was where the meal was being served but thought it would be more inviting. We dressed for dinner but were very cold.
Food was amazing and breakfast was served in the lounge but at very low tables....not ideal either for dogs.

Exceeded my expectations. Not at all a small town hotel. Spacious accommodation: rooms and public areas. Very good welcome on arrival; log fire well looked after in the spacious lounge area. Board games available.

A stay at the Balmoral Arms is always a pleasant one. Staff are helpful and polite and nothing is too much bother. Room was nice and cosy. The lounge area was lovely to sit in for a relaxing drink.
Breakfast was extremely slow but was due to a staffing issue which was understandable. Staff kept us informed throughout and we were compensated for the inconvenience even though we weren’t in any hurry and had not complained about the wait.
We will definitely return.

We visited with friends overnight last week. The staff were a great example of Scottish Hospitality. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Our room was bright with a comfy bed. At breakfast we we were spoiled for choice. The food was really good. Hotel had a friendly ambiance.
Only negative is, that it does not have lifts. Would highly recommend and will be back.

It was lovely but room was freezing cold, there was ice inside the window. Mould round the sash windows and plastic stuck at the bottom. Could also hear the heating pipes. Advised reception and we got moved to another room, which was beautiful and the temperature was perfect, what it should be. Was worth the cost using voucher but wouldn’t pay full price. The food in the restaurant was amazing

This was booked as part of my partner’s 70th birthday. We thought the hotel was great, apart from our room (54). It was tired looking, with staining on the skirting in the bathroom. Although there was nowhere to state that you were taking a dog on the itison booking, I let the hotel know as a courtesy. This may be why our room bore no resemblance to the rooms on the website. That said, the staff were great and the food was very good.
