We have been many times. Cosy rooms with the heater on and friendly staff too.
Lovely surroundings but having lights outside(golf course side) to avoid staring out into pitch black from room, bar, restaurant.
Some atmosphere required in the bar - even having a music channel on to limit workload.
Definitely more staff required at breakfast - hot trays left empty and dried up - this has not happened on my previous visits.
Would generally recommend.

Place just needs refurbished. It’s just a bit tatty and ragged round the edges. Staff were good and food decent and we only paid £239 for two nights. We were on the ground floor and people kept walking past and there were no nets on windows so no privacy.

No it was very nice apart from the lift not working

This is a tired hotel. Our room was very basic, with just 2 glasses and an empty water jug instead of what we think is the standard in most hotels of bottled water. The room was however clean and beds were comfortable. The bottle of Prosecco on arrival as part of our deal had to be requested. The food was very poor - £39 for a barely edible steak and handcut chips (which were limp and almost black) was ridiculous. My cauliflower main dish was almost raw (the naan bread turned out to be deep fried greasy chapati and the basmati rice was just plain boiled rice). We complained to the Manager, who took the extra cost off our bill. The staff in the restaurant at dinner were running around in a panic as there was a table of 24 guests who were there on a Golfing weekend. Some of the staff seemed unable to cope and other guests were offered the wrong orders. All in all, pretty awful and very disappointing.

Rooms very comfortable, hotel in good decorative order, restaurant very nice with views over to the river. Spa facilities very good, changing rooms clean etc
On the downside, the pool was rather cold and the breakfast could have been hotter and with less of a wait for a table. Was also surprised that the lift was out of action and appeared to have been for some time, with so many older guests evident.
Overall a very enjoyable stay however.

We are both in our 80s. Our room was on the 4th floor at the end of a long corridor with no lift! The kind man who carried our cases upstairs for us as we are both slightly disabled went back to reception to complain we were moved to the floor below reception, which was a lot better as we only had one flight to climb.
Food was very good and replacement room so much better.

Clicked to confirm the booking via Itison ad required. Rang MacDonald’s Cardrona to confirm rooms available - there were but booking number required from HQ. Rang HQ but was advised no rooms available using the voucher. After numerous requests to HQ they refused the booking. Rang MacDonalds Cardrona explained the situation and they accepted the voucher bypassing HQ. Stay at Cardrona was great as per usual but may not use Itison voucher again

It was enjoyable and we didn't feel sidelined because of our dog.

Lovely, helpful staff.
The bed was very comfortable. It was a large room overlooking the golf course and hills - very restful. The food was good too.
We have been before and will return.
Parts of the hotel are dated but very clean
