Hotel is over 150 years old with beautiful high ceilings and ornate features. The room was spacious and clean but in general the hotel was tired looking and needed decorated in places. However, the staff were nice and advised that the hotel is waiting on the go-ahead for refurbishment. The location was perfect for a stay in Oban.
Old World Charm

I loved my stay at the Great Western Hotel in Oban. It was charming though one or two things need attention eg the combination faucet in my room was broken and the hair dryer didn't work, but my bedroom was divine! It was large with a magnificent sea view and a super-king size bed. My dinner was tasty and plentiful and my breakfast was excellent (though no porridge!). My stay was a real treat.

Had a great weekend at the Great Western Hotel in Oban. Food was delicious and the room excellent with sea views. Staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for lus.Would highly recommend

Hotel with lots of potential. Our room although very comfortable and clean in inclement weather the windows are in such a state they wouldn’t hold much out.
We ate in hotel on both nights and menu good selection and food was excellent as was breakfast.

The lift was out of order and we were on the second floor, My sister is 80 and I’m 73 now and have not got great health . That was the main problem for us.
Needs updating but clean

Staff multi task and do their best but you can wait at the Bar for 10 minutes to get a drink as the barman is in the restaurant making meals. The hotel is needing updating
