It was unexpectedly good, in the sense that so much thought had gone in to the room design , compared to most places Similarly with the menus and the quality of the breakfast and dinner

We stayed here for 2 nights in March and cannot recommend highly enough. It is set in the charming village of Felton which is an ideal base to explore the North-East including Cragside House in nearby Rothbury. The room (St Michael's) we had was very comfortable with a super-king sized bed and beautiful, large bathroom. The staff were all very professional and happy to engage with customers. The food was also top-drawer and the restaurant was busy on the Sunday evening we ate there. There was a pleasant atmosphere at dinner and the following morning at breakfast. All the food was well-prepared and thoroughly enjoyable. Car-parking is just across the road, opposite the hotel. We would not hesitate in staying here again.

We loved it all: the gorgeous little village it was set in and the history of it all - The Duke of Northumberland’s former coach house, I believe; beautiful rooms; fabulous food - we ate there on the Saturday and Friday nights - & hearty breakfast each morning, including lovely sourdough bread toast and poached eggs. It was a brilliant stay! The staff were very attentive, and, to top it all off, it’s dog-friendly.

We decided to extend our few days away from home by starting with a stay at The Northumberland Arms.
We are familiar with the eating experience but not the rooms.
Our room was wonderful, peaceful and very relaxing with an enormous en-suite and bathtub.
The staff were excellent and the only thing that was disappointing was my portion of chicken and they had ran out of my husband’s favourite pudding. I suppose that might have been due to a very busy day of Sunday lunches.
Breakfast was excellent and we would highly recommend a stay. We will certainly be back for another Sunday Lunch.
A lovely weekend getaway

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We stayed in the St Michael's Church room which was spacious and comfortable with a very large bathroom (no door to bathroom so quite open to the room). The food was excellent, the staff friendly and accommodating. We also enjoyed the Burn's Night celebrations. Great location in a pretty village, right next to the river and only a few miles from Alnwick and Amble. We'd recommend our stay to others.
