The hotel is a little too far from Aviemore to be easy walking business, particularly at night
Maintenance is not 100%
Food is at the basic end of the spectrum, but staff are very helpful and pleasant
Guide was properly treated

Nostalgic as used to stay there years ago.
Obviously our room was dated but furnishings very good quality and built to last and everything was very clean including the towels which were beautifully white.
Very homely atmosphere in hotel .
We had buffet dinner one night reasonably priced at£25. It was good quality ,well cooked especially the beef and Guinness stew. Actually with no exaggeration it’s a while since we both enjoyed a meal out so much. If you’re staying in Aviemore you should try the buffet dinner if you like good old fashioned quality.
The menu for bar meals in the sitting lounge was a disappointment . Maybe that’s because it was not what I was expecting.

Breakfast buffet was just ok not very warm . We had the evening buffet one evening and was not impressed. Food was lukewarm and desserts were frozen gateau’s on maybe 2nd 3rd night and very very frozen ice cream and that was it

I think ages of children should be reviewed as we had to pay £10 per night extra for our 4 yr old grandson who does not eat a morsel at breakfast

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Coylumbridge Hotel.
The Hotel refurbishment is impressive and the leisure facilities are much improved.
The Room was nicely refurbished, bright and cosy with two very comfortable beds and adequate lighting, with coffee and tea station.
The check in was disappointing as we arrived early but waited two hours for our Room.

Had a relaxing weekend at Coylumbridge- although hotel was exceptionally busy - We arrived and were placed in a room in the annex - this was lovely and not nearly as warm as the main hotel rooms. We got to breakfast straight away, although I noticed there were queues before we finished. Good spread of lovely foods for breakfast. Staff very friendly and helpful. Having to pay by card each time we bought a drink was a bit of a pain as I had several small charges to my account - but nothing major

Enjoyable experience at the hotel. Fantastic location and dog friendly, which was the main reason we chose to stay here. The room itself was a little tired and dated, but we enjoyed the different areas in the foyer/bar to socialise with our friends. We were upgraded to a room on the ground floor which was a welcome surprise. However on night 2 there was a lot of noise at 12am -1am with other guests smoking and socialising by the automatic door, despite signs advising otherwise.
Better than expected breakfast due to the good selection of hot food and wide selection of fruit/cereal etc. We noticed a croissant lying on the floor at our table on morning 1 and it was still there on morning 2, which was the only disappointment.
The booking process was a little frustrating as no one seemed to answer the hotel phone. We eventually were put through to a Britannia call centre and spoke to a very friendly and helpful colleague. According to the reception staff upon arrival a few errors had been made though.

Went here in trepidation after reading recent reviews. However we couldn't fault a thing.
Upgraded to a family room in main hotel( only 2 of us) with 2 double beds. Nice room, really clean . Bathroom had a walk in shower cubicle which suited us as this is what we have at home. Looked as if bathroom and fittings were fairly new.
Breakfast was hot and there was a good choice. Was disappointed there were no bun fights after reading a previous review.
Price of drinks in hotel were average price . We felt we had a bargain with a bottle of red wine for £15. Same bottle of wine ( same brand) cost us £27 in the Old Bridge Inn earlier that day.
Had a few drinks in Tge Woodshed which we loved especially the wood burning fire. Really cosy on a drizzly day. We didn't have food here or stay for entertainment , choosing to head back to main bar in hotel.
Had a few small plates there for 4 of us as we weren't hungry. There was a clown/juggler and a lady doing face painting free. Being the kids we are, we joined in. Background music was brilliant, from the 80s.
All in all we had 2 great days/nights there and would recommend at the time of year we went. Thursday and Friday at end of October.

We absolutely loved our stay. Excellent friendly staff, great food options, and a large comfortable room, all in great surroundings.
