Terrible customer service

Swimming pool was closed the two days I was there with no advance warning and in turn left my kids really disappointed as this was a Christmas present for them.
The bar called last orders extreamly early, 9pm. I asked why the bar was closing and the staff members was rude and clearly didn’t want to be there!
I have since emailed the hotel several times since returning home and not had a single response! Appalling!
Very dirty rooms and rude staff.

This hotel is being run down. There isn’t enough staff. Our rooms were dirty with human excrement left on our toilet, dog hairs everywhere, no health and safety notices, there were dogs everywhere and on th furniture in shared spaces, the food was very disappointing.
Could do Better

Upon arrival there was only 1 staff member on reception and a very long queue, which resulted in a 1 hour 40 minute wait.
Food let you down, it was often cold and the juice machine often tasted like water.
As enjoyable as always.

Disappointing

Although we had a lovely time in Aviemore, we will not return to this hotel. We didn’t mind about the ‘basic’ accommodation, but the bed was so uncomfortable and I had 2 nights of zero sleep. Even my 8 yr old moaned about the ‘hard springs’! The buffet food was edible but not enjoyable. It is so sad as this hotel has SO much potential to be something special. You can see there is no investment - staff are scarce and quality of food and accommodation is poor. I hope that somebody takes this hotel on and gives it the TLC it needs to make it special!
Roll the basic facilities

The hotel is a little too far from Aviemore to be easy walking business, particularly at night
Maintenance is not 100%
Food is at the basic end of the spectrum, but staff are very helpful and pleasant
Guide was properly treated
Friendly and delicious breakfast and dinner.

Nostalgic as used to stay there years ago.
Obviously our room was dated but furnishings very good quality and built to last and everything was very clean including the towels which were beautifully white.
Very homely atmosphere in hotel .
We had buffet dinner one night reasonably priced at£25. It was good quality ,well cooked especially the beef and Guinness stew. Actually with no exaggeration it’s a while since we both enjoyed a meal out so much. If you’re staying in Aviemore you should try the buffet dinner if you like good old fashioned quality.
The menu for bar meals in the sitting lounge was a disappointment . Maybe that’s because it was not what I was expecting.
