Beautiful inside. Booked lovely spacious bedroom and it was huge and bedroom really comfortable. TV a bit problematic but the weather was horrendous when we arrived. Breakfast choice was great. Not sure about the stacking of full Breakfast and slow serving of breakfast. Scrambled eggs looked like plate had been under a hot plate and not freshly made.
Overall though we loved the stay.
beautiful building lovely large room and great breakfast

It was a lovely historic building very comfortable and the breakfast was great particularly the hot food which was freshly cooked to order. My wily complaint was that there was no lift. We were travelling home to Scotland from Spain and breaking our journey. 4 flights of stairs with luggage and no lift was quite an effort particularly as I have arthritic knees. I knew about the lift but was not expecting quite so many stairs. For anyone younger and fitter I would recommend it but I won’t go back.

Lovely hotel, room was great but the staff really made our stay. Sam in the bar and the girl in reception and bar on our first night (sorry forgot your name) are a real credit to this hotel but so are all the other staff. Breakfast was amazing - thanks for a lovely stay
Hotel was in a perfect location to access transport, sightseeing and shops.

Our experience at the place was very very good. From the minute we entered the young staff were attentive & helpful. The room was a good size with an excellent wet room shower(requested due to physical disability. The decor was very modern throughout and I particularly liked background music playing in all the social areas of the hotel. Breakfast had a good choices and was excellent served by the staff who were very accommodating in ensuring our needs were met( extra tea offered) and no rush to leave. Only issue for me personally being the bed and pillows which were far too soft, resulting in very liitle sleep being gad over the 2 nights we stayed. Would happily return if they could gaurentee a firm robust bed.
A fabulous hotel, wonderful room, delicious breakfast and lovely staff.

Absolutely loved this hotel We had a wonderful stay at The Place. A great location for visiting Edinburgh. Our room with a suite was enormous, with huge comfy beds and a massive bathroom. The breakfast was excellent. Right in the heart of Edinburgh with easy access to Leith. Would love to stay there again.

Well placed for John Lewis Quarter bus station train station. Less than 10 minutes from St Andrews Square leading to George Street. The Hotel is very friendly and has a nice bar to relax in. Breakfast was amazing and the service excellent. We stayed in the Robert Louis Stevenson Suite which was very spacious warm and cozy. All round a great central place to stay.
Everything perfect, in the heart of Edinburgh.
