A beautiful old building, immaculately kept and in first class scenic surroundings. Excellent location. Very good rooms, well appointed with efficient housekeeping. Dining rooms lounge and bars excellent, as was quality of the food. All staff were friendly polite and helpful. A much needed and restful break indeed.

2nd visit using itison voucher. We upgraded to a sea view....well worth it. Great to sit at window watching world go by with fab view along the coast. We were there for 2 nights, enjoyed lovely meal in the Copperfield bar on 1st night, as part of the itison voucher. Excellent breakfast each morning. Room was lovely just like the rest of the hotel. Handy ironing room on 3rd floor. The Grand Tynemouth is well located for fab walks, local shops 10 minutes away, lots of nice pubs within Tynemouth and down at the Fish Quay.....a lovely walk down by the Priory and along the coast path weekend market at the train station and only a short journey on the Metro into Newcastle. We will definitely return for a 3rd visit.

Fabulous Hotel in every way. Beautifully furbished throughout to a very high spec.
Spacious, spotlessly clean and so comfortable.
Massive comfy bed and super bathroom.
The breakfast and evening meals were excellent.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
First class!! A huge "well done" to all the team at Grand Hotel.
We will be back.
Only down side, if I am honest, parking was a bit tricky. We always found somewhere though .. and we were there when the weather was at it best and the beaches were heaving so the demand for parking was off the scale.
Beautiful old building , service good, 3rd floor room very warm in summer.

Fantastic 3 day break

Had three days at the Grand Hotel in Tynemouth, and we had a fabulous time there. The staff were brilliant, and could not be faulted, while the atmosphere is what one would expect from a "Grand Hotel". The position of the Hotel is perfect on top of a slight hill looking down on the aptly named Longsands beach. The open top bus stops nearby and takes a route to Whitely Bay which is is worth a visit. The lounge in the Hotel is a place to savour where drinks can be enjoyed and first class meals served both for lunch and dinner enjoyed. Car parking is easy either in front or in the stables behind. Highly recommended.
