Lovely Hotel in great location and family friendly

Had a great time here with teenage grandchildren. The room was lovely , we had two double beds large tv, . Good facilities. Swimming pool one for toddlers and another deeper one but these were full to capacity at times so had to queue. I think given the capacity of the hotel they may need another pool .had arcade for kids which was good. Lots of nice walks and not far from Avimore town centre. Easy access to other things to do ie went to Highland wildlife .
Colyumbridge Stay

Arrived to be told check in is at 3pm……..went back just before 3, there was a very long queue. Took a while.
Overall the hotel- although a bit dated- was good. Be aware there are no lifts so carrying cases up the stairs
Room was clean, we had a family room. Bathroom was clean with modern shower. Breakfast each morning was very busy, only one person meeting and seating people, could have been doing with a few.
Choice was fine, all managed to get something.
Pools were a big asset, also has sauna and jacuzzi. We used them twice with the kids
Kids disco on the Monday night was a plus too
Fun house was ok. Soft play and crazy golf/putting
No healthy options in the dining area there
Quite a few games machines, bowling was out of order and the pottery classes previously there were gone too
Outside options in Adventure area were missing some things that were advertised too- although don’t think it is not the hotel who operates this, pay for each activity
No dry ski-ing, no tubing, no kids bikes. There was a few other things to do and the hotel has a play park area
Overall with kids this is a good hotel to go to

All very good BUT Check in time atrocious!!! We waited over an hour while one poor man worked his way through the queue as fast as he could. The people at the end of the line waited 2 hours to check in. all this time another member of staff stood behind the desk doing something on another computer. Surely customers come first.

Great hotel , had a great stay and was brilliant value for money . Plenty facilities for kids , few things thst the hotel could do to improve . Have the fun play area open later and entertainment on but later . Also food stopped after 8 which was not ideal if you are swimming later etc . Check in was a bit of a farce not enough people on the reception . Lack of communication from staff meant they were unsure if I had paid my balance which left me not able to settle until it was confirmed . This wasn’t a great start . Few things to tighten up on other than these issues great holiday and great hotel to visit . Hopefully be back again .
Lumpy Mattress

Breakfast and Dinner buffets were very good, room was spacious with twin beds, mattress in one bed was lumpy and had squeaky springs, Wash hand basin tiny, only enough room for one hand at a time and both taps were unable to turn off. Nice big lounge area to relax and have a drink. Good news, only in that bed for 2 nights and gone home to recuperate and book a massage.

Overall a good experience. Good food and decently priced drinks.
Air conditioning is definitely needed for the courtyard rooms.
Staff could be a bit more attentive when they see you waiting to be served not putting their heads down and walking right past.

Quality hotel room, great food with excellent leisure facilities in the Cairngorms. Only improvements is a better check in systems as waiting in queues is a nightmare.
The hotel was ideally situated for our purposes over the weekend that we stayed. The room was quite comfortable.

We and our party had a great time during our stay. We had family with is from America who were thoroughly enjoyed their time at the resort and surrounding areas.
The staff were very helpful and friendly. The buffet breakfast was included when we booked and it was excellent value.
Poor room

Stayed scores of times as Hilton and now Brittania but worst room ever. The walls were all marked. shower was tiny (with mould) and toilet looked like it hadn't seen a good clean in weeks,. Whole bathroom needed a deep clean. Complained after getting room, but was told hotel full. Went to complain and give feedback at checkout but very rude lady said I don't have time to listen, I have a group call in two minutes and left the reception.
Why on earth was she on reception and asked how she could help.
