It was ok

The self guided tour was good, although I would leave up to 2 hours to do it all fully. There was a wedding being set up the morning we visited which did ruin our tour a little. FYI if you're having your wedding here there's all sorts of folk roaming around in the morning and around your cake/display 😆
The breakfast tea was average. Firstly we were sat at a table with a view of a wall, despite there being one next to the window available. Not wanting to make a fuss and assuming it was booked we didn't say anything, but it wasn't, so surely we should have been sat there in the first place?
The food was average, all very dry. There was toast with avocado and poached egg, it was quite cold apart from the egg, so slightly unpleasant. The brioche breakfast rolls were again quite cold, and very very dry, I couldn't really eat the whole roll. The croissant and scone were ok, just again quite dry. There was only one mini pot of jam between 2 people for the croissant and scone so not much opportunity to make it less dry!
I wouldn't book it again, but would recommend visiting the venue for the tour.
Lovely venue, great service in the restaurant.

We had a great experience there, from the cafe to house tour. The location is easy to get to, and also we were able to visit the walled garden which is a short walk away. Would definitely recommend it to others.
Staff and setting were great, food not as good as we'd hoped.

The venue was lovely and all the staff we encountered were helpful and friendly. The morning tea, sadly, was cold . It was well presented, looked great and the food tasted fine. I felt it must have been prepared in advance as we were booked for 11.45 which was the latest time for morning tea. We arrived early and we're told that if we wanted to do the tour we needed to do it before our food as there was a wedding on in the afternoon. That was fine with us but meant we would be a bit late for the morning tea but we're assured this wasn't a problem. I think some of our food must have been made and left, possibly under a heat lamp ( as the brioche rolls were a bit crispy on the outside) until we arrived back in the café at 11.55. The poached eggs were pretty cold and the yolks were hard. The filling in the rolls were cold as it's all brought at the same time so by the time you have eaten the avocado with poached egg on toast, the rest has gone cold. Such a shame as I do think the food is of good quality. I would try it again but I feel it would be so much better if the poached eggs were brought first then the breakfast rolls brought afterwards, along with the pastries and yoghurt.

We enjoyed the food and the tour it was very interesting but the staff made us feel that we didnt belong. They made the booking feel very awkward and looked up and down at my husband and i which was very embarrasing and very uncomgortable. We actually only stay 5 mins from house of an art lover and we appreciated the gift from our friend for our xmas. Making people feel like that is awful.

Wasn't allowed to do tour when there on Sunday. Beef lunch wasn't great either. It was given as a gift and they were disappointed
