A bit disappointing

Sadly the overall impression was one of a lovely hotel in need of investment, and a cost cutting policy which limited the quality of the experience.
We were in one of the least attractive rooms, at the back of the hotel. It was stuffy, but opening the windows increased the noise from the kitchen fans which were right below us.
The food in the dining room was uninspired, and the breakfast offering was clearly recycled from the day before.
Having said that the staff were always pleasant and tried to help, but an example of the level of customer care was when I asked if I could have some shortbread with my morning coffee the answer was simply “No.” We had to ask for additional cutlery at breakfast as only one knife and fork were on the table. We either had to reuse the knife from the cooked breakfast, or request a fresh one.

Mixed Bag

Overall we enjoyed our stay but it was a mixed bag.
On the negative side, check-in was not available at the agreed time and our room was a little ‘tired’.
On the positive side, we enjoyed the pool and spa, the food was good and the staff helpful.
The value for money was good.

Great bargain on itison. Lovely meal and breakfast. Nice big room, clean and bright. The bathroom was small.
Perfect for what we needed

We were meeting friends staying in Drymen so hotel was perfect. Unfortunately we didn't have time to use the leisure club. Room was comfortable except for leaking shower (reported). Lovely area and a short drive to Loch Lomond. Staff were friendly.

Lovely meal and very good leisure centre. We felt the rooms were a bit dated but we weren’t paying an arm and a leg. We got value for what we paid.
Short Relaxing Break

Check In was not the most welcoming nor did they provide much details of facilities and how to access them and what you would need! The room was fine, slightly tired but comfortable, except for the heating, despite turning the radiators off the were on full, resulting in virtually no sleep, despite having all the windows open. Reception took immediate action the following day and maintenance turned off the heating system. The corridors throughout the hotel were stuffy due to the heating being on high throughout. The breakfast was pretty poor. Despite this, a lovely building, in a great location, the staff overall were very helpful and friendly. Address the heating and the breakfast and this would elevate the overall experience. The spa and leisure was excellent, staff very friendly.
