New management since our last visit has made many small improvements, but fundamentally the old charm of the George over the years still remains. Lovely staff, rooms, food and whiskies…. everything you would want!!
Great place, good food, good service will make a return visit.

We previously had an enjoyable meal here and decided then, we must stay for a couple of nights which we did. The room was great as it was on the ground floor overlooking the gardens and quiet. Easy access into the hotel and car park on your doorstep. Had the Special main course on the first evening which was excellent. Enjoyed our visit to The Pub within before our meal on the second night.

Having stayed previously we knew what to expect and weren't disappointed. Room upgrade was better than we hoped for and the warm atmosphere in the bar helped the our dinner go down a treat.

Visited the George Hotel on a particularly dreich day in January. Room was huge with beautiful furnishings. Food was incredible! Highly recommended the Loch Fyne langoustines and knickerbocker glory for dessert! Played a game of uno, and drank cocktails and whiskies by the fire and felt the cosiest sense of escapism. Perfect getaway for a couple! Beautiful drive home to Stirlingshire. Ticked every box.

We spent one night at The George as an escape from Glasgow for the weekend and absolutely loved it! The staff are friendly and helpful, the food is delicious, everywhere is full of character and cosiness with real fires and twinkling fairy lights - couldn't fault. If you're thinking of booking it, do!
