I really enjoyed my meal-the surroundings, vibe and choices. My calamari and lasagne were spot on, the service could have been a tad quicker- but that's maybe part of the vibe. Will visit again.

On entering the restaurant the smell of damp was very off putting and the decor of Xmas tinsel, plastic flowers and creased table clothes again not very inviting The stairs down to toilets were filthy and the smell of damp in toilets was even worse than upstairs The food on other hand was lovely Such a shame as this was one of our favourites back in the day was a lovely place to go The building site outside certainly doesn’t help

Waitress greeted at the door with a lovely smile and showed to our table , she brought along a jug of water almost immediately , then we got our house red wine , I forgot to ask the name of it but it was very drinkable , food came very quick , Bruschetta was really tasty as was the rice balls , chicken tagliatelle

Gio's is a lovely traditional Italian restaurant in the centre of Aberdeen. It's well worth a visit.

Love the food here. Been a few times lately and the food and the service never fails. Love the fact that the chef came out to see how his food was being received.
