Amazing Stay

Stayed overnight for my birthday on the 30th March. From meeting the receptionist to having drinks in the bar and then going down for dinner al of the staff were so lovely and nothing was off any trouble for them. Can highly recommend the meals and it was also really dog friendly.
Landing area to noisy

We enjoyed breakfast however room 113 was next to laundry storage area therefore I presume it was staff going in and out and creaking the floor boards. Room very compact did not feel safe using kettle as was on a very narrow shelf. We visited with other guests and felt a bit second class in comparison to their room. Not worth complaining for one night but would not have stayed longer in that room.

Have stayed a few times at McKays, lovely clean hotel, however bedrooms have been very small for price of room. Drinks in bar are extremely overpriced, £16.30 for two pints of lager. Breakfast is average. Will find other accommodation next time.

We had a superb stay. Lovely spacious extremely clean room. The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend The McKays Hotel.
Fabulous overnight stay and great value for money

Lovely overnight at McKays. Staff were great very pleasant and couldn’t do enough to help you. Our room was modern and clean and looked like the bathroom had recently been refurbished. Breakfast was lovely buffet style with lots of fresh fruit options. Also cooked breakfast with no supplement for certain things which you often get with hotel deals. Will definitely be back.

We have been coming to your hotel every year for many years and we love it. The staff are always very friendly and the food is of a high standard. ... the menu has been updated and it's great .
Unfortunately we didn't enjoy our room as much as we did last year. I know there are a limited number of dog friendly rooms but we had a great room last year. Our room 203 was up lots of stairs, the bathroom wasn't great and the water wasn't very hot.
We'll be back next year, please can we have a better room?

Overall the experience was pleasant. Good service and food.
However the size and location of the room leaves a lot be desired.
Located above the kitchen (noisy).
Very small room with no space even for a small chair.
This would deter a return visit for me.

We enjoyed our stay at McKays so much we extended our stay to another night. Friendly, attentive staff. Breakfast choices & service faultless; cooked to order & delicious.

We stayed one night, the room was big and comfortable, the staff were very friendly and the food was fantastic, the weather was raining as always but didn't put us off, will definitely stay again
