Room was dusty and out dated. Bed was two singles which made sleeping uncomfortable.

Not at all what I expected, I was upgraded to a "deluxe" room, I would hate to see the standard rooms.
Made a complaint to general manager, still no reply, one week later. Definitely not on my re-visit list. I'd rather stick with a Premier inn.
An excellent base for discovering Dumfries and Galloway.

The staff are superb and the facilities excellent. The hotel is furnished to suit the age and status of the building which gives you very comfortable seats and lots of space to enjoy. You can dine on excellent food in either the main restaurant or in the bar which is dog friendly. The outside space is well maintained and there are lots of walks to do.
One thing that needs addressed is the staining on the seats and carpet in the bar dining area. This detracted from the overall elegance of the hotel.

Lovely hotel in beautiful grounds. Our bedroom was enormous with a sitting area. Plenty of storage space.
Downside - TV was very very small and difficult to watch.
Shower was over bath which due to my arthritis, I was wary of falling. Although to be fair, there was a rubber bath mat and grips on wall.
There was no background music in any of the lounges or dining room which made ambience quite bland.
Food was lovely at dinner and breakfast.
Thoroughly enjoyed our time at Cally -.food was good and staff arrentive

Amazing hotel

Since arriving staff were excellent, nothing was too much for them. We enjoyed some time in the pool and walked around the beautiful gardens. Our meals were delicious. Will definitely return to this hotel.

Very relaxing. Interesting menu. Great walks through the woods & into Gatehouse.
We arrived just after 3pm. The room wasn't ready or I think it was the case that the keys weren't at the desk. Didn't mind waiting 20 minutes but it would have been nice to have had a welcome, which we didn't get, just told to go to the bar or walk in the grounds!
Thankfully things improved later & we enjoyed our stay.

Hotel is in such a beautiful setting, so calming and relaxing as well as very pretty. Room was lovely with a very comfortable bed. Very clean. Our voucher included money towards food and drinks so we had a very nice dinner. Breakfast was good too with plenty of choice. Would highly recommend and would definitely return.
