Standards slipping

This was our third visit here and sadly standards are slipping.
The hotel would be less than a third full so why put us in a room facing the back wall rather than a front or side view? Also twin room rather than double and the bathroom was accessed up a few steps, not ideal.
However having said that the room was clean and tidy.
Dinner was poor and expensive, the chips were shocking and unedible. Breakfast was much better than dinner but still not perfect.
Overall disappointing and not sure we would return.

We always enjoy the hotel.
It is a bit tired but its warm, clean and the beds are very comfortable.

The staff at Glenburn was very friendly and helpful. Meals very good. We were there four years ago and enjoyed it then and the same this time.
Peaceful hotel with an amazing view

Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel once again . Lovely view from our room . Very good breakfast both mornings plenty of choice . Plenty of tea and coffee in our room . The evening meal of fish and chips was truly uneatable , warm chips , fish was raw in middle , no veg on plate , very disappointed that we went to another restaurant for Monday nights dinner . Staff very friendly and helpful .

Lovely hotel in a great location, with a bit of a hike. Room was clean and comfortable. Provisions in the room were limited, no complimentary water, biscuits. Staff were great, polite, attentive and professional. Food was good, venison was delicious, unfortunately partners fish and chips was poor (small with thick greasy batter), despite this would definitely recommend.
A welcome back having gone there last year.

It’s a nice hotel, very prominent on arrival on the ferry. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
If taking a car, there’s not too many parking places so you either climb a hill or 90 steps if you have to leave your car on the main road.
The rooms are comfortable but bathrooms can do with a bit of upgrade.

The once very grand hotel is a bit tired in the public areas however our bedroom was more modern and very comfortable. The views from the balcony surrounding the ground floor is a delightful spot for a drink. We had dinner and the selection was very good with specials. We both had very tasty starters and main courses at excellent value. Breakfast is a buffet with a great fresh fruit salad and hot food topped up. Different eggs can be cooked to order. The staff were very helpful. An easy short walk into the town centre.
