Bit of a let down

As a frequenter or afternoon teas, this was mediocre for the price.
The hostess who greeted us didn’t crack a smile. The wait staff were nice.
We had a lot of dietary requirements, which I know is annoying for such venues but was reassured before going it would not be a problem. However; even those without the requirements the food was mediocre. The cakes were nice but the sandwiches were blah and something I could have made myself for 0.50£ in 1 minutes. The scones were tiny. The cakes for the vegan option were all essentially the same and quite dense. None of us ate meat (apart from fish) so perhaps if we were all meat eaters it would have been more interesting.
The venue was quite loud.
Overall, it was fine but wasn’t as good as I was expecting.
I would go back to the Corinthian only for drinks.
A great afternoon tea.

Beautiful building, staff very helpful and attentive, and our afternoon tea was great.
We will definitely go again.
The food was good but music too loud.

We did enjoy our time at the Corinthian apart from the fact the music was far too loud. While the music was nice it could have been toned down a lot. It was hard to speak. The service was very good. Staff were pleasant and efficient.
My sister in law said it was great

Really enjoyed the afternoon tea served in the Corinthian. Couldn’t fault it. Lovely surroundings, pianist playing what more could you want.
Great venue, great food, great service

The only thing that needs improved is we advised no fish and instead of an alternative sandwich they just removed the option with salmon
Not the best

The venue is stunning- no doubt about that. Have visited for other things and have always enjoyed it but the afternoon tea was poor.
Both in my party are vegetarian and rather than a sausage roll (on the menu and could be seen at other tables) the alternative was a literal shot glass filled with soup. It was hilarious being totally honest.
We went for the first available booking of the day when the venue opened at 12:00 but unfortunately the sandwiches were very dried out and also very flavourless. I appreciate when choosing vegetarian you are limiting the options but 3/4 were cream cheese & a vegetable. The other was unidentifiable.
The scones were nice enough but the cakes were unimpressive.
Overall the experience just felt underwhelming considering the venue is so beautiful. Disappointed to say the least! :(
Not the best afternoon tea!

We arrived 10 minutes early - waited in bar ordered cocktails and weren’t seated for another 20 minutes. The table was only half set up - no tea spoons and one plate with a dirty mark on it and the sugar bowl was “sticky”
We got our tea and then waited a further 35 minutes only after prompting them, for the afternoon tea plates to arrive by which time the tea was cold.
The staff did apologise but it wasn’t busy and the young staff seemed to be at sixes and sevens. The manager did offer us our drinks for free and apologised for the delay but thus was a birthday treat and really wasn’t good enough- we won’t return or recommend
