Grand rooms, comfortable vibe and with great views over the loch and hills. Food is good though selection limited. Would like to see the return of the bar menu to complement that of the dining room.

It is a lovely place to visit, lovely staff and food. However, "faded grandeur" describes it well. Bedroom was warm, clean and comfortable.

Love Stonefield Castle, beautiful setting with Loch Fyne views across gorgeous gardens . Staff are very friendly and always helpful in every way. Restaurant was excellent too, hope to return soon.

We stayed here on a Friday and Saturday night in February. Our room was on the ground floor but was a little run down, carpets were really worn, the furniture was visibly damaged and there was a strange smell in the room.
The Friday night meal we ordered the Lamb and the Feather blade of beef. Between the young man who took the order and the Australian waiter who brough the food, no one mentioned that the meal they actually served me was the Vension - which was extremely rare and we even overheard someone else in the restaurant complain about this. On the Saturday night, I showed a female waitress the meal I had been served on the Friday which she said was the Venison. When I explained the situation she apologised and said this should never have happened or gotten to the table and she would sort it for us. When we checked out on the Sunday, we had no further update on this, no one else bothered to check in and it hadn't been resolved. We explained that unfortunately this had impacted our experience at the hotel and the female who checked us out did remove the 'Beef' from our bill. But overall, the staff didn't seem to be working as a team and no one seemed to be that bothered about our experience. Sadly, we won't be back for this reason.
Could not fault this lovely hotel. Great location, friendly staff and delicious food. We will be back.

Stonefield Castle is a first class hotel. We had a wonderful stay. Beautiful location. Very attentive, kind staff. Food excellent.
