Beautiful setting for hotel overlooking the Harbour.
Room was clean and comfortable albeit a bit tired.
Bathroom was a bit tired and bathroom suite was chipped and stained. There was a shower over the bath which was a bit of a safety hazard as hot water was scalding and it was difficult to get temperature regulated. I would worry for older people or children.
Dinner was great and we both enjoyed it. However breakfast on first day was disappointing. No bacon, no potato scones, no orange juice. We asked a waiter who went to kitchen but there was more than a 5 minute wait.
There was no cheese or cold cuts or fruit salad. Basically if you didn't want a cooked breakfast , you were left with cereal and a pastry.
The waiting staff were all very friendly and helpful but there didn't seem to be anyone in control of the dining room.
It was the same the 2nd morning so we just had cereal as couldn't be bothered waiting.
To be fair, all staff were really helpful and friendly and there was a nice atmosphere in the bar lounge.
Not sure if we'd go back to this hotel unless it upped it's game. However we did have a lovely break.
Very helpful and understanding

The hotel is badly in need of refurbishment. I had 3 vouchers for 3 rooms and one room was twice the size of the other 2 and had received some upgrading. Seemed rather unfair for those in the other rooms who paid the same.
The restaurant requires a layout and furniture upgrade the decor was actually very nice but spoiled by the furnishings however our dinner was delicious. Breakfast was disappointing.
Lovely views with friendly staff

Value for money, but rooms on the top floor were too small to be sold as double rooms, and were a little cramped and airless.
Bar service a little slow but dining room staff very friendly and accommodating.
Views from public lounge were stunning, pity the windows weren't clean though.
Portpatrick has always been an old family favourite and we've stayed in other hotels in the area.

We had a very relaxing stay at the Portpatrick Hotel and the staff were so helpful. If you want modern, this hotel is not for you but if you want simple, slower paced, good quality food and accommodation amidst the sea views and lovely place that Portpatrick is then you won't be disappointed.
Hotel is very tired and understaffed

Upgrade in rooms essential. Toilet seat cracked a d toilet cracked both fixed either glue. Bin in bathroom rusty. Windows look as if they are on their last legs and curtains ripped down the side.
Very enjoyable.

Food great, service great. Hotel is tired and needs refurbishment. This did not spoil the break we had.
