Lovely Lodge Stay
Reviewed on
Stayed at the hotel many times , but this was the first time I booked a lodge to meet up with friends for a few days. We had a very comfortable stay together in the well equipped, spacious lodge, very clean and that had everything we needed, whilst making use of all the hotel’s facilities. Really appreciated the tranquil setting.
Some maintenance issues were disappointing re overgrown climbers and unused furniture outside but looking forward to returning and enjoying the warm hospitality, good food and peaceful surroundings.

For many years my friend and I have enjoyed vouchers for Spa with Afternoon teas.
The Atholl Palace is a grand old hotel set within lovely grounds in the picturesque town of Pitlochry.
The leisure facilities are basic, there is no sauna or steam room so it cannot be described as leisure it’s a swimming pool and jacuzzi, though very nice and well maintained.
The staff throughout the hotel are friendly and helpful so it’s with regret we have to highlight what is a second problem. That is the Afternoon tea itself. I would emphasise the staff could not be more helpful but the actual food presented was poor. On 3 occasions we visited the food has been consistently unacceptable. Dried out stale food verging on inedible. Each time we would try a small piece of everything on offer but tasting did not improve the experience!
According to the menu the normal charge for afternoon tea is £48 per person. It sadly reflects badly on Scottish tourism if you do not provide quality food at acceptable prices.
Hopefully this review is received as intended and informs the hotel of the problem
The restaurant was really good, staff were very courteous and attentive. The leisure access was mid, no sauna

We had a lovely afternoon there. Food delicious. We walked up from the centre and it was a bit far for my sister-in-law to walk back. We tried to book a taxi at the Reception but there was nothing available at that time.
The lovely lady on Reception very kindly took us back down to the centre in their mini bus.
Excellent service and lovely selection of food
