Dirty, dingy, nothing good to say, awful!

Upon approaching , windows filthy, does not look inviting! Entrance old fashioned but impressive with two beautiful chandeliers. Room small, basic, dark, dingy, overall very grubby. Carpet filthy & badly stained.. Bathroom cleanish with cracked tiles on walls & floor. Towels and bedding white & clean although I decided not to investigate beneath the bedding as I had no alternative but to stay the one night. Left as quickly as possible feeling ripped off and grubby myself . Couldn’t wait to get home, wash my clothes & have a long shower.
Itison deals in the past, have, on the whole been good. I will do a lot more digging in the future before I book another hotel. Photographs must be 20/30 years out of date. I can only assume no one checks the hotels before they appear on the itison site .

So there was a problem with the booking as I used the online Itison booking and the hotel didn’t know anything about, luckily I rang them and spk to a lovey girl on reception called Zoe who sorted it out for us, who I thanked personally when we were there
The room size was fine but the bathroom was tiny and no room to move around and the shower was running cold 🥶, the breakfast was ok but not worth £15 if you booked on arrival, all staff were lovely, location great but I wouldn’t stay again.
