4th visit!
Reviewed on
We have visited on a few previous occasions. This was the quietest we had seen it.
Service was better than last time: more friendly and welcoming.
My wife said the sausage rolls were very good. I thought the mini quiches tasted of scrambled egg and only that.
Some of the sandwiches were a little dry, but the cakes and sweet treats were great: a good variety and well-presented.
I'm sure we'll return again at some point.
Lovely setting and welcoming staff, but the afternoon tea fell short

I’d been looking forward to visiting DoubleTree by Hilton Glasgow Central after buying a voucher for my wife’s birthday in September. We finally managed to find a free weekend and attended on Saturday 17 October.
The venue is gorgeous, and we received a lovely welcome. Throughout our visit, the staff were friendly, informative and attentive. A young man playing upbeat, modern music on guitar until 3pm also added to the atmosphere.
Our table was booked from 2.30pm to 4pm, towards the end of the afternoon tea service. Once we were seated with our complimentary prosecco, a member of staff explained how the buffet worked.
Unfortunately, our first visit to the buffet was disappointing. There was a limited choice of sandwiches and savoury items, and the sandwiches we selected were slightly dry around the edges and lacked the softness you would expect from freshly prepared sandwiches.
A waitress later brought out a fresh tray, but placed the five or six remaining sandwiches from the previous batch on top of the fresh ones, which was disappointing to see.
The sweet selection was much better. There was a lovely variety of cakes, along with scones, cream and jam, far too much to try everything and this helped the visit end on a positive note.
Overall, we enjoyed the setting, music and warm service, but the savoury selection fell short. For me, the buffet format also loses some of the sense of occasion that makes afternoon tea special: freshly prepared sandwiches served at your table, a few lovely cakes and, of course, a scone with clotted cream and jam.
Would I recommend DounleTree , No, as there are other venues in Glasgow that provide a more enable service . However the serving staff and all fantastic and lovely people who can't be faulted

Absolute nightmare to book. Received no confirmation and when we arrived they had no booking....
All of the sweet treats were cream based which was an overload!
One member of staff was rather ditsy....
Amazing Day

What amazing value & also service. Special mention to Jack who made us feel so welcome.
Food was all fresh & well labeled.
Went for afternoon with a couple of my friends & we throughly enjoyed this.
The staff even made a special effort for a lady celebrating her 93rd birthday whilst we where there.
Will definitely be back.
